About Miss Lili

My Journey to Musical Spanish
After becoming a mom, I sought a career that would allow me to be present for my baby. My journey began when I got certified to teach yoga for infants and toddlers. This led to a partnership with a friend, and together we created Your Brilliant Baby, a program offering a series of developmental courses for infants and toddlers. It was during this time that I discovered a profound passion. Our Spanish class, a surprise hit, quickly became the most popular offering, with parents clamoring for more. This demand organically led me to teach Spanish at various preschools. Witnessing firsthand how effortlessly children absorbed Spanish through music was truly inspiring. They weren’t just picking up vocabulary words; they were grasping complete sentences and even entire songs! This incredible observation became the catalyst for developing my signature Musical Spanish™ program. I’m dedicated to its continuous evolution and improvement, especially since receiving my certification in Child Development, which further informs my approach to early language learning.

Meet Miss Lili: Passionate Language Educator

Miss Lili, the founder of Musical Spanish, has been teaching Spanish since 2005. She launched the Musical Spanish program in 2011, originally focusing on immersive Spanish for preschoolers but now has extended to elementary age children. Recognizing a need for engaging educational resources, she collaborated with Zack David to create ¡A Cantar!, a unique Spanish album designed for young learners, teachers, and parents. Driven by continuous demand, Miss Lili remains dedicated to developing innovative language materials, including emotion cards and games, and recently her first bilingual book: My bestfriend/Mi mejor Amiga.

Her commitment extends beyond just teaching, as she’s deeply invested in the growth and success of her students and the families she serves.

Born and raised in León, Guanajuato, Mexico, Miss Lili brings a rich cultural background to her teaching. She holds a B.A. with honors in Communications from Universidad Iberoamericana and is certified to teach English as a Second Language (ESL). In 2015, she earned her California teaching credentials as a site supervisor in Early Childhood Development. With extensive experience teaching at various preschools and charter schools throughout North San Diego County, today Miss Lili teaches at Encinitas Country Day. She is also certified in child CPR and concussion management.

Residing in Encinitas, California, with her husband and two children, Miss Lili’s passions include reading, writing, and traveling – she even embarked on a year-long round-the-world journey with her family in 2018! Above all, her true calling is to engage young minds and open the doors to a new language and rich culture for students of all ages.
