  • Miss Lili

Miss Lili teaches Spanish through private classes, both in person and virtually for children and adults. A native Mexican, Miss Lili has been teaching Spanish for over 15 years and has her California teaching credentials in Early Childhood Development as well as a B.A. in Communications.

Miss Lili is the creator of learning materials including her music CD and songbook ¡A Cantar! for toddlers, preschoolers, teachers and parents. She continues to develop more language materials such as emotion cards and games and is always adding to her free resources. Miss Lili developed and taught her popular and unique Musical Spanish program  for toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergarteners at numerous community centers, libraries, private preschools, and parks throughout Encinitas and Carlsbad.

She strongly believes in the benefits of teaching children a second (or even third) language as early as possible. Studies have shown that being multilingual actually changes your brain structure, improving one’s memory, expanding empathic pathways, as well as bettering one’s information processing and multitasking skills. It’s been shown that very young children can acquire several languages at once without confusion.

Lili, I am so happy Bodie and Tess are learning Spanish together!  They are both loving it and very proud of what they have learned!  It’s awesome! I also appreciate the practice of reading in Spanish.

Lili, we are so thankful for your program. I wish the parents had a chance to sit in (especially those not yet signed up) so the adults could see the value.

Nosara has taken Musical Spanish several times at the YMCA. She also attends to the free Bilingual Storytime at the Library and decided to take Spanish at St. Mark even if she doesn’t come to this preschool. Nosara loves to pretend play and we play Ms. Lili and Spanish class quite a bit.

    The Benefits

By exposing your child to a different language at an early age, you tap their natural potential to learn languages and hear the difference in language sounds and accents. It will also grow your child’s perspective to learn about other cultures.

Research has shown that bilinguals tend to be more creative thinkers than those who speak one language and that their brain functions may stay sharper as they age.

Children who learn a second language at an early age:

    • Learn easily, rapidly, and without an accent
    • Have better problem-solving skills
    • Have better critical thinking skills
    • Have better flexibility of mind
    • Have enhanced memory
    • Have better multi-tasking abilities
    • Have better academic performance
    • Have an appreciation for other cultures and increased empathetic capacity
    • It’s never too late to start!
